Step into comfort: Bobbies Paris shoe review

When people complain about “wedding season,” it goes way over my head.

You see, at 30-something years old, I don’t go to a lot of weddings.

… like, the last two weddings I’ve gone to, I was either a flower girl or the bride.

I don’t find it burdensome to turn down a wedding invitation.

It’s simply a matter of explaining that traveling for a wedding is expensive, and apologizing that you can’t make it. If I’m close with the bride, I’ll send a wedding gift with that apology.

Until my best forever friend was ready to say “I do” and asked me to be a bridesmaid.

So, I said, “I do too” — to our friendship I mean, and booked international travel and planned a trip in the middle of “a lot going on at the moment.”

My best friend generously treated for her bridesmaid’s dresses.

… but, that left shoes in my court.

Considering the cost of airfare, hotel, and restaurants (no way was I missing Montreal’s culinary delights!) — my shoes needed to be somewhat affordable.

… but, I also wanted to love them and to be able to wear them long after the wedding.

When I found Bobbies on 24s, it was like seeing a green light at the end of a dock…

Showing how Bobbies Paris shoes fit

My Bobbies Daisy pumps, in Champagne Gold, are a size 39.

Available only in full-sizes, I ordered my usual 39.

My feet aren’t narrow, but not completely not wide — I’d say they’re regular, but they have a propensity to swell up if I eat too much salt or when I’m on them for too long.

Bobbies pumps fit, essentially, perfectly in a 39.

Impressions

This is exactly one of those reviews that I didn’t really think I’d write a review about — which means they could either a smashing success or a colossal disappointment.

Fortunately, because I couldn’t find anything else that fit the bill, these shoes are a success.

These Bobbies shoes are absolutely perfect sartorially and ergonomically.

A true 1920’s T-bar strap design always looks so cool, and Bobbies’ Daisy shoes are no exception.

Most shoes, all shoes, no matter the price, the price I end up paying is in blisters.

… I guess I’m a fool, who is too easily attracted to beautiful little shoes in this world.

However, unlike other shoes, these Bobbies Daisy shoes are comfortable.

Especially if you’re wearing them as a bridesmaid.

It took 12 hours, wearing them from 10:00am until 10:00pm, until my dogs started to howl.

My feet were perfectly happy while my best friend was getting ready, glided on air walking down the aisle, were totally fine running around the Old Port for photos, and then only started to slow down for the slow dance once I was seated at the reception.

The leather sole has a bit of cushioning, but the real comfort lies in how the straps do not dig into your feet.

Graceful, wearable, and stylish, these are the shoes that you want if you are going to a wedding, in the wedding party, or simply anywhere else…

Pros & Cons

Pros
Quick shipping: 24s had my package in the USA within just four days of ordering.

Style/Support: The T-bar strap brings a delightful hint of 1920’s flair that remains timeless, as well as providing extra support for a secure fit.

Heel: 8cm or 3.14 inches, they’re a little higher than my usual 70mm heels, but they are effortless to walk in.

Elastic on the shoe buckle: Secures your foot, yet allows it to still move naturally.

Comfortable: This is the part that drives me wild. How many shoes, under $750 especially, actually do not rub anywhere? Like I do not feel like a blister could or would be imminent anywhere on my foot in my Bobbies pumps. It feels like magic, or maybe it’s just Bobbies’ thing — making affordable, comfortable, shoes.

I think 1920’s-loving Kate Moss wore them too?

Affordable: Mine were on sale for $151 USD.

Cons
They don’t automatically* include dust bags.

However, when you weigh the price vs. comfort usually persnickety me is willing to overlook this tbh.

*If you checkout directly from Bobbies’ store, they do have the option to add them if they are available, however I ordered from 24s (which is sold & dispatched by Bobbies and did not ask if I wanted to include dust bags).

Weddings should never feel like a chore or an obligation.

… nor should they compel you to spend recklessly.

Our choices — whether it’s attending weddings (or skipping them!) and life in general are shaped by a blend of past experiences and aspirations for the future.

If you can step into that future with shoes as comfortable as Bobbies, well, it’s like walking towards a green light at the end of a dock.

… only with a happier ending.

Bobbies Paris shoes are available from 24s or from Bobbies directly from $230 USD.
